Diocese of Broken Bay is a
Catholic diocese in the
Broken Bay region of
New South Wales,
Australia. This diocese was separated from the
Archdiocese of Sydney in 1986; geographically it extends from
Wyoming to
Manly and to
Epping.
The Most Reverend David Louis Walker DD MTh is the Bishop of the Broken Bay Diocese. His predecessor was the Most Reverend Patrick Laurence Murphy DD (1986-1996). On 10 February 2008
Our Lady of the Rosary, Waitara was inaugurated as the cathedral of the diocese, succeeding
Corpus Christi, the parish church of
St Ives on
Sydney's
North Shore.
